Before you go
How to actually get in for free
- Brass ensembles play from the roof of the big nativity scene daily 19:00-19:30 and 20:00-20:30 from 27 November to 23 December.
- Skating is free after 21:30 - bring your own skates, as hire still costs €6 then.
- U2 to Rathaus or trams 1, 71 and D to Rathausplatz/Burgtheater stop right at the market.
- On Christmas Eve the market closes at 18:30; it is gone after 26 December, but the ice rink stays until 6 January.
