Museum Island is free for some visitors, not for everyone.
- Free for: children and young people up to 18 (with ID); recipients of Bürgergeld, housing benefit and asylum-seeker benefits; a required companion of a severely disabled visitor.
- Otherwise: museumsinsel-Ticket (area ticket, all Museum Island museums on one day) — €24.

How to actually get in for free
- The Museumsinsel-Ticket (€24) pays off from the second museum: it covers every museum on the island on one day, special exhibitions included.
- Under-18s go free in every Museum Island museum but still need a free ticket from the counter or the online shop.
- The Pergamonmuseum is closed for renovation until 4 July 2027; Pergamon highlights and the Asisi 360° panorama are in 'Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama' nearby, included in the area ticket.
- There is no free museum Sunday any more: Berlin's Museumssonntag ended in December 2024.
- Every museum is closed on Mondays; Altes Museum and Bode-Museum close at 17:00 on most weekdays.
